The G-FORCE Combination Fence was tested on July 20, 2016 and has received M50 P1 certification to the ASTM F2656-07 test method. The anti-terrorist fence system stopped the 15,085 pound (6,842.5 kg) test vehicle traveling at 50.33 mph (80.99 kph) in a recent crash test per- formed by a certified independent test- ing laboratory. The barrier allowed no penetration, stopping the vehicle for an impact designation of M50 P1. "We believe this anti-personnel/ anti-vehicle barrier combination fence will save money for end users and installers on both material and in- stallation costs," stated Jim Castello, president of Gibraltar Material Distri- bution, L.P. The G-FORCE Combination Fence was originally designed for clients in Saudi Arabia who needed a product that offered an anti-personnel fence option, but also carried anti-ve- hicle barrier resistance and certifica- tion for an ASTM F2656-07 M50 P1 impact, he noted. "This anti-personnel/anti-vehicle barrier fence combination is a great option for military bases, airports, prisons, refineries, chemical facili- ties, power plants, industrial sites, and other locations that need hardening of their perimeter to prevent vehicles and trespassers from entering," Castello said. "Although some competing an- ti-vehicle barrier systems are placed adjacent to or incorporated with an anti-personnel fence, most of these have not been crash tested to verify the combination of the two systems will not negatively affect the perfor- mance of the anti-vehicle portion of the system," he added. Designed for ease of installation, the G-FORCE Combination Fence is a continuous shallow foundation with a maximum depth of 12". This negates the maintenance needed for mowing and maintaining the grounds around the fence and bar- rier itself. The Combination Fence is an ex- cellent option for existing facilities that need an anti-vehicle/anti-person- nel combination option. The shallow foundation allows for no interruption of existing underground utilities, said Castello. The G-FORCE series of anti-ram crash fences is a key component of Gi- braltar's perimeter anti-vehicle barrier portfolio, which includes offerings of crash certified anti-ram crash gates, wedge barriers, bollards, and vertical lift barriers.
