ROLLOUTS Designed for extreme-duty Altas Copco Construction Mining Technique says its new extreme-duty (XD) pedestal boom systems are the only ones on the market specifically designed for secondary rock breaking in mines and open pits. The boom systems are designed for use at grizzly stations in underground mines and at gyratory crushers in open pits. Key components — the pedestal boom's flexi-base, slew mechanism, cylinders, and pin-locking system — are rugged enough to withstand the rigors of a harsh rock-breaking environment. Both machines are powered by Cummins Tier 3 ASB6.7 engines, which offer electronically controlled fuel- to-air ratio and clean, efficient combustion. For the HL740-9, operating weights range from 26,460 to 27,780 pounds, breakout forces range from 24,800 to 23,880 pounds, and buckets are 3 cubic yards in size. For the HL740-9, operating weights range from 32,000 to 3,070 pounds, breakout forces range from 27,620 to 28,220 pounds, and buckets are 3.7 cubic yards in size.
