Express Mobility Partners will maintain one express lane and three regular lanes in each direction between the Beltway/I-495 and U.S. 29 in Gainesville. EMP will set and collect express lane tolls, but general use lanes will remain free to truckers and other drivers. Motorists with three or more people in their vehicle and an E-ZPass Flex may use express or High-Occupancy Toll lanes for free. Otherwise, variable toll pricing that adjusts according to current traffi c volume will be used. The state's HOT lanes network has expanded through public-private partnerships and now allows large trucks to use the I-66 HOT lanes outside the beltway. Trucks will remain barred from I-66 HOT lanes inside the Beltway after the Virginia Department of Trans- portation completes work on a separate HOT lanes project. – Jill Dunn Hard braking, rapid acceler- ation, curbing and tight turns cause tires to wear faster. Many of the problems caused by those and other bad driving habits show up as uneven tire wear. If you notice shimmying or repeti- tive bumping, inspect your tires. Even absent those symptoms, look for irregular tread wear in your daily inspections. The Partners in Business program is produced by Overdrive and the consultants at ATBS, the nation's largest owner-operator business ser- vices fi rm. It is sponsored by Ryder, Goodyear Smart Fleet and Truck- stop.com. The next free seminars will be at the 2017 Great American Trucking Show in Dallas. The program manual is available at eTruckerStore.com. For more information, visit OverdriveOnline.com/PIB. PARTNERS IN BUSINESS TIP: DRIVING HABITS AND TIRE LIFE
