In an exemption request to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, the Mount Juliet, Tenn.-based fleet proposes allowing its team drivers to split sleeper berth time into two periods totaling 10 hours – either 5/5, 4/6 or 3/7. Dillon says it will reduce drive time from 11 hours to 10 hours before a driver is required to take his sleeper berth time. Dillon says all of its trucks are equipped with telemat- ics and electronic logging devices, as well as speed limiters, to ensure hours- of-service compliance. Go to Regulations.gov and search FMCSA-2016- 0443. – Matt Cole Dillon Transportation is seeking an exemption to allow its team drivers to split sleeper berth time.
