STEPS TO TAKE: FILL OUT THE FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID (FAFSA). Need assistance? College Goal Wisconsin hosts free workshops throughout Wisconsin to assist students and parents with filling out and filing the FAFSA. View the workshop schedule at: collegegoalwi.org APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS! Each of Wisconsin's private, nonprofit colleges and universities offer many scholarship opportunities. From need-based to merit-based, there are many scholarships available, including some that cover most of the cost of tuition! Be sure to also look for outside scholarships through your high school or based on your area of study. BOTTOM LINE: For the 9th year in a row, the average out-of-pocket tuition at Wisconsin's private, nonprofit colleges and universities is $5,500 or less. The average price for undergraduate tuition and fees at WAICU-member colleges and universities during 2015-16 was $30,920. The average freshman financial aid package was $25,420, leaving net tuition costs of just $5,500.
