In the Minutes of the June, 2012 board meeting (page 8 of this magazine) you will have read about the retreat that the Board of Directors participated in during their regular board meeting. The National Directors have been concerned about the future of the Society, the direction it needs to go and how to secure the succession of its executive officers and the courts. The retreat was conducted by a consultant who is very knowledgeable about business management. Prior to the retreat, the consultant had interviewed the executive officers, and the employees. He was able to observe the way the Society is managed, its culture and its financial status, goals and objectives. A great deal was learned about what the National Directors and Society need to do to remain competitive in an increasingly challenging and changing market place. Along with the staff, the Executive Officers immediately began to address some of the day to day internal issues in the office and are making plans with the National Directors for other more long term changes that will positively impact the Society as a whole. The National Directors have established a Member Education Committee that will be informing NCSF members in future articles about the challenges our Society faces as it moves forward, and of the opportunities that await the Society in this age of information, technology and management. The National Directors will present some suggested changes to the "Constitution and Laws" that will support methods of conducting Society business in a professional and fiscally sound manner. Your interest in the work of your National Directors is greatly appreciated. Members are encouraged to keep an open mind as we move forward in our efforts to keep the Society strong, healthy and growing. Change is not a choice. It is happening all around us, regardless of what we do. The issue is whether we allow change to dictate what we do or whether we would like to plan and take charge of that change. – NATIONAL CATHOLIC SOCIETY OF FORESTERS BOARD OF DIRECTORS – CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE CHANGE
