winning her third Women's State Amateur title in the last four years at Montgomery CC. Wood also finished in second place at the Women's Stroke Play falling in a playoff to former UA golfer Cam- mie Gray of Northport. In her final year at the University of Montevallo, Wood was named a first team NCAA Division II All- American, a first team NCAA Division II All-South- east Region selection, and a first team All-Peach Belt Conference selection. Wood posted six top-10 finishes, four top-5 finishes, one individual tourna- ment title, posted a team-best seven rounds under par and a conference-best 73.85 stroke average. Wood has claimed four AGA titles: Women's State Amateur (2014, 2016, and 2017) and Women's State Stroke Play (2015). Steve Hudson grew up in Jasper, but has lived in Birmingham for many years. He won his second consecutive Senior Men's POY award by excelling on the national stage. He won the Society of Se- niors Senior Masters, finished second at the Gas- parilla Invitational and the U.S. Senior Challenge, placed T7 at the George C. Thomas Senior, T8 at the George Coleman Invitational and 9th at the Jones Cup Senior. Locally, Hudson finished T3 at the State Senior Amateur at Hoover CC and 10th at the State Mid- Amateur at Burningtree CC. Hudson has five AGA titles to his credit: State Mid-Amateur (2010, 2012), State Senior Amateur (2011, 2014) and State Four- Ball (2016 with Robert Nelson). Susan West of Tuscaloosa earned her second consecutive Senior Women's POY honor boosted by a third consecutive victory at the Women's State Senior held at Grayson Valley CC. She was runner- up at the Women's Southern Mid-Amateur, a quar- ter-finalist at the Jones/Doherty Senior Women's Amateur and finished in 5th place at the Women's Southern Senior Amateur. She also competed in three USGA National Championships in 2017: U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur, U.S. Women's Senior Ama- teur and USGA Women's State Team. At the state level, West finished T10 at the Women's Stroke Play, advanced to the Round of 16 at the Women's State Amateur and finished 2nd at the Women's State Four-Ball partnering with Arin Eddy. West has three career AGA titles: Women's State Senior Amateur (2015-2017). Ethan Hagood of Birmingham, a senior at Spain Park High School, claimed the inaugural State Junior Boys POY honor. Hagood's 2017 season was highlighted by winning the Southern Junior Cham- pionship held at Willow Point Golf & CC, where he birdied his last five holes, including all three play- off holes for the victory. He finished 3rd at the Boys State Junior at Goose Pond Colony Resort, won multiple Southeastern Junior Golf Tour events, and totaled a 3-0 record as a member of Team Alabama that won the Southern Junior Cup. He has signed to play collegiate golf for UAB, starting this fall. Michaela Morard, a sophomore at the Randolph School, captured the first State Junior Girls POY award.
