nEWs & trEnds AHR EXPO 2013 Preview nearly30,000industryplayersareexpectedtoattend It���s been going strong since 1930, and as the largest and most comprehensive HVACR exposition, the AHR Expo attracts tens of thousands of attendees from all facets of the industry, including contractors, engineers, dealers, distributors, wholesalers, OEMs, architects, builders, industrial plant operators, facility owners and managers, agents and reps. Over 1,800 manufacturers and suppliers will all be in Dallas Jan. 28-30, 2013, to showcase their latest products and systems, building automation and controls, software and services, and more. Coupled with a powerful line-up of association meetings, educational and networking opportunities, no other event drives the HVACR industry forward to meet the demands for a greener planet. TraDEShOW The drive for greater energy efficiency, greener products and sustainable technologies has accelerated the pace at which new products and innovations are coming to market. The 2013 AHR Expo will feature leading manufacturers and suppliers from around the world, showcasing hundreds of innovative new products to nearly 50,000 industry professionals. EDucaTIOn Ranging from educational sessions about cloud computing to workshops on ���Dead Men���s Steam School,��� there will be an abundance of valuable learning opportunities for the DEnnISkBurkEanSWErSThE caLLOnhurrIcanESanDy On Oct. 29, Hurricane Sandy slammed down on New York and New Jersey, leaving a wake of destruction in its path, including demolished houses, flooded subways, and thousands of families without power. In the immediate aftermath, Dennis K Burke began dispatching fuel trailers to help support utility vehicles responding to the widespread power outages in New York and New Jersey. 10 thousands of HVACR professionals attending the 2013 AHR Expo. Nearly 100 educational sessions, workshops, certification exams and product presentations designed to provide HVACR professionals with information and insights to help them improve their businesses and perform their jobs more effectively will be offered during the world���s largest HVACR trade show. Many of the sessions are sponsored by the industry���s leading associations and several offer certification and continuing education credits. SPEcIaLPrODucTSEcTIOnS Two special sections featuring the latest products and technologies driving the HVACR industry���s software and building automation segments will be showcased on the show floor. The Building Automation and Control Showcase, now in its 18th year, will feature more than 160 companies from 10 countries displaying state-of-the-art building integration and automation products and solutions. In New York City, the focus was on FEMA refueling operations for light towers, generators, heaters, and mobile command centers. Several of Burke���s dedicated drivers were in it for the long haul, working countless hours, sleeping in their trucks at the FEMA command centers, refueling critical locations to support the January2013| FuELOILnEWS|www.fueloilnews.com storm recovery. They worked all day and night, powering up generators for local police stations, fueling the Army and National Guard response vehicles, and delivering to LaGuardia and JFK International Airports to support ground and emergency equipment. Our drivers were fueling generators that powered local housing complexes and tent cities, and providing fuel for huge dewatering pumps to work at clearing the flooded subways.
