Get the total package at Marten. company currently has about 40-45 teams between the two eets and plans to add 20-25 additional teams by the end of the year. January 30, 2013 (Mondovi, Wis.) Marten Transport, a Wisconsin-based certied top paying carrier, continues to lead the trucking industry as the employer-of-choice in refrigerated trucking. The company is currently looking to add several driving teams to both its East Coast and West Coast team eets. At the end of 2011, Marten decided to make a change to the way we run our teams. Now, we run them out of our regional ofces instead of the corporate ofce, says Jonathan Stewart, regional coordinator for Martens East Coast team eet. By doing this, weve been able to focus more on making our teams a consistent priority and be more proactive in getting our teams as many miles as we can while theyre out there on the road. Splitting Martens team drivers into two divisions has allowed the company to concentrate on growing the team eets and bringing in more revenue by giving teams more loaded miles. Stewarts East Coast team eet runs primarily anywhere from Texas to Wisconsin to along the East Coast, while the West Coast team eet runs mostly along the Western part of the country. The Were looking for drivers who are going to push themselves and who want to make as many miles as they can, explains Stewart. For teams, were specically looking for drivers who are going to stick together for the long-term. Since the company transitioned to regional ofces, Stewart says that miles are up about 20 percent because they are able to make that more of a priority. Stewart tries to get his teams out as far as he can in order to give them as many miles as possible. Teams at Marten average about 5,000 miles per week, but Stewart has some teams who reach as many as 7,000 miles per week. Driver applicants must have a CDL-A with hazmat endorsement, be at least 22 years of age and have a minimum of one year OTR experience. Marten drivers can expect competitive pay corresponding with experience level, frequent home time, advantages such as paid license fees and plates, detention pay, a substantial fuel program, priority dispatch, quality equipment and ample benets.
