Shorepower Technologies has installed 55 locations with power pedestals as of the end of 2012, with 23 locations going online in the fourth quarter. The 55 locations offer more than 1,250 electri���ed parking spaces, some with cable TV also available through the pedestal. Twenty of the locations provide connections to 480-volt power for hybrid refrigerated trailers, (eTru). The power pedestals are being installed as part of the Department of Energy���s Shorepower Truck Electri���cation Project (STEP) ��� administered through Cascade Sierra Solutions, a non-pro���t based in Eugene, Ore. Since 2010, STEP has resulted in a 210 percent increase in the number of truckstops across the United States adding power pedestals.
