In this issue… Contributors Owen Croy is Manager of Parks for the City of Surrey, British Columbia. He has served SMA on the MFI Teaching Team, Editorial Review Committee, and in many other roles. Dr. Susan Day is an Assistant Professor in the Virginia Tech Urban Forestry Program. She has a split appointment between the Department of Forest Resources & Environmental Conservation and the Department of Horticulture. She enjoys teaching both undergraduate and graduate students about the world of city trees. Dr. John McGee is Associate Professor and Geospatial Extension Specialist in the Virginia Tech Department of Forest Resources and Environmental Conservation, College of Natural Resources and Environment. McGee works closely with Drs. Day and Wiseman on projects like the Virginia Urban Tree Canopy Mapper. Lorri Grueber, a Certified Municipal Specialist, has been an arborist with the City of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri for 5 1⁄2 years. She's involved with ISA, SMA, and the Missouri Community Forestry Council. When not at work she is usually either riding a horse or working on a quilt. Ralph Sievert has worked for over 30 years in urban forestry and is currently the Director of Forestry for the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board. He is a proud graduate of The Ohio State University where he earned a BS & MS in Natural Resources. Gene Hyde has a Master of Forestry Degree from Louisiana State University. He is a Certified Arborist and Municipal Specialist and has served as the City Forester of Chattanooga since 1990. He has served SMA in many capacities, including as President. Flavio Pereira Telles is the Director of the Parks and Garden Foundation in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He holds degrees in Forestry and Environmental Science. He is active in the Brazil Chapter of the ISA and the Rio de Janeiro Forester's Association, and he is a frequent speaker on urban forestry and ecology in Brazil. Patricia Joyner manages the Community Forestry Program for the Alaska Department of Natural Resources. She has been an ISA certified arborist since 1997. 6 Ivan Listar is the Urban Forester for London, Ontario. He chaired the Canadian Urban Forestry Conference (CUFC10) in 2012 and is a proud SMA Member and MFI Grad (2008). Dr. P. Eric Wiseman is Associate Professor in the Virginia Tech Department of Forest Resources and Environmental Conservation, College of Natural Resources and Environment. Wiseman's research focuses on urban forest ecophysiology, arboriculture practices, and urban forest inventory and analysis. City Trees
