Other events slated for the 2013 year include TA/Petro sponsored events at the Expedite Expo,TA Walcott Truckers Jamboree, and GATS, as well as the 4th annual Band Together for the St. Christopher Fund. TA/Petro's ability to collect donations from drivers, their employees and the public in support of the Fund has been instrumental in furthering the organization and its mission. To celebrate this fact and to raise awareness of how having a furry companion along for the ride leads to better health, we will be having a pet photo contest. In March, the SCF attended the MidAmerica Trucking Show (MATS). TA/ Petro sharedtheir booth again and supplied prizes for a prize wheel. The prizes were great and well worth the $1.00 donation to the Fund. SCF also kicked off their first official collection of coins for our Big Rig of Change campaign. The goal of this campaign is to collect 80,000 lbs of change (the weight of a fully loaded rig) by the end of MATS, 2015. Driver "Little John" Liestra is the brains behind this campaign; he has been collecting his change and donating it to the SCF since 2009. So, start collecting today: use an empty water bottle, milk jug or similar container to hold your change then bring it in for an easy donation!
