In this issue… Contributors Owen Croy is Manager of Parks for the City of Surrey, British Columbia. He has served SMA on the Board, MFI Teaching Cadre, Editorial Review Committee, and in many other roles. Jeff Shimonski is an ISA Certified Municipal Arborist who serves as Director of Horticulture at Jungle Island in Miami, Florida, and runs a consulting company, Tropical Designs of Florida. He is Chair of the Editorial Review Committee for City Trees. Samson Bjarnar Hardarson is Assistant Professor in the Department of Landscape Planning and Architecture, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, at the Agricultural University of Iceland, Reykjavík. Hardarson runs a research programme on garden and landscape plants in Iceland: http://yndisgrodur.lbhi.is. Andy Hillman is past SMA Past President and member of the Municipal Forestry Institute Teaching Cadre. He is the former City Forester for Ithaca and Oswego, New York, and the current President of the New York State Urban Forestry Council. He currently represents Davey Resource Group as the Northeast Business Developer. Lisa Ceoffe is City Forester at the City of Pittsburgh. She is the TreeVitalize Coordinator and a member of the Pittsburgh Shade Tree Commission, Mayors Sustainability Commission, Tree Pittsburgh Board, and Urban Master Plan Steering Committee. Lisa was the first to hold the position of Urban Forester for the City and since 2011 has also been overseeing operations of the Forestry Department, where she is currently working towards implementation of the Urban Forest Master Plan. Matthew Erb is an ISA Certified Arborist & Municipal Specialist. As the Director of Urban Forestry, Matt manages Tree Pittsburgh's planting, stewardship, and nursery programs and implementation of the Urban Forest Master Plan. He sits on the Pittsburgh Shade Tree Commission, is Secretary of the PennDel ISA and Vice President of Pennsylvania Community Forests.
