Miroir Froissé, 2013, by
Mathias Kiss
Armel Soyer
While Mathias Kiss is a contemporary designer, his references are steeped in antique practices, as with
Miroir froissé (Crumpled Mirror), seen here. Partly inspired by 18th century mirrors, which were used to embellish and integrate architecture, Kiss' contemporary interpretation uses the faceted form to manipulate
and disturb what's held in its reflection. Limited edition of eight, numbered and stamped.
