LANDAIR TRANSPORT IS THE SUPERIOR CHOICE FOR OWNER OPERATORS Company offers top-of-the-industry pay and experience for owner operators Landair Transport, Inc., a privately-owned dry van carrier that operates primarily in the Eastern half of the U.S., is quickly becoming the career destination of choice for owner operators. The company offers its owner operators a competitive pay package and all the extensive support needed for a successful business. "We understand that trucking is not an easy job so we do whatever we can to make sure our drivers get their job done," said Sasha Catron, operations manager for Landair. "We have an experienced group of people here who understands how important it is for everyone to work together to accomplish our goals." Each driver manager at Landair oversees about 30-35 trucks, allowing managers to establish close relationships with each of their drivers and focus on their individual needs for mileage and home time. The company also gives its owner operators access to the same resources its company drivers utilize to ensure driver success, such as discounts on fuel, fuel routing systems and in-house maintenance program. "Landair has been very successful in turning some of our company drivers into owner operators," said Catron. "Drivers considering coming to Landair can certainly speak to a recruiter, but we like putting them in touch with some of our own drivers so they can hear straight from someone who's been out there." Owner operators at Landair can expect to average 2,400-3,000 miles per week and earn up to $1.05 per mile, empty and loaded, as well as a current fuel surcharge. Landair also has no forced dispatch with 99 percent no-touch freight, bonus opportunities, paid plates and permits, discounted tires and fuel programs, and major medical, dental and vision insurance. To drive for Landair, owner operators must have at least one year of recent OTR driving experience and a good driving record. HAZMAT certification is preferred, but not required.
