The 5-inch well, which produces 10 gallons per minute, is located about 5 miles from one of the entry points of the formation being fed from the Missouri River. The well was drilled through 19 feet of the formation, which consisted of fine sands and sandstone. S&S Drilling was founded by Kevin Sorenson in 1992 in Williston, North Dakota.
