membership with the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA).

Hello SMA Community!
My name is Rebecca Kirk, but please feel free to
call me Becky. Practically my whole life I lived in
the small town of Garrettsville, Ohio. A fun fact
about me is that Clarence A. Crane, the inventor
of Life Savers candy, lived in my childhood home!
It then became the birthplace of his son, Hart
Crane, who was a famous American poet.
Nowadays, I reside in Tampa, Florida, after moving
here three years ago with my boyfriend, Ryan,
after his contract with the Marine Corps ended.
Wanting to be closer to his family and both of us
wanting to have a break from the cold weather,
the Sunshine State was the perfect fit! Although
I am on the outskirts of downtown, any chance I
get to be outside, enjoying nature hikes at state
parks, walking the beach, or boating is where you'll
find me. My most fond memories as a kid are
surrounded by trees, parks, camping, gardening,
and just being outside with family and friends.
In 2018, I was looking for a change. As I was
entering my senior year at Wittenberg University
in Springfield, Ohio, I reached out to a family
friend who I knew worked for The Davey Tree
Expert Company. As I was pursuing my Bachelor
of Science in Biology, Davey Tree seemed like
a great fit for a summer internship. What I
didn't know was that my summer internship
