Tobacco Asia 79 to product quality. How is it possible to effectively utilize this data and leverage its value in cigarette production? HCF takes quality as the center and dataset as the entry point, connecting data silos in production, quality, equipment, logistics, and other fields. The huge data flow gathers into the "strongest brain" of the smart and centralized control center, forming a joint opera- tion system. With complex data generated from the cigarette and manu- facturing process in order to enable useful data to be ultimately collected in the centralized control center HCF comprehensive- ly evaluates all the data, and distinguishes historically redundant data from data that can bring true value. To this end, HCF established a data governance specialized team focusing on the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of data. Adhering to the principle of "whoever uses is responsible", the team clearly defines the responsible department for each data, promoting the steady improvement of data quality. Comprehensive data-sensing The high-speed operation of the 'brain' is also inseparable from the rapid perception of the 'nerve endings', in addition to whether the data pathways are smooth. At the beginning of the design of the smart and centralized control center, HCF rap- idly processed massive real-time data, used streaming comput- ing technology to enable production terminals to perceive the data in a timely manner and complete relevant processing work during data transmission, making data integration more efficient and successfully solving the problem of tracking key quality in- dicator parameters. At present, the smart and centralized control system has integrated all data from CT Anhui and HCF, collecting nearly 5,000 real-time data points, achieving cross application percep- tion of the entire manufacturing process information. Regarding data as an important organizational asset, HCF gathers manufacturing elements such as equipment, materials, and energy during the project construction process to achieve global perception of manufacturing process data, capture data patterns, perceive abnormal states, guide offline rapid response and precise processing, and build a new data-driven management model. Data drive early warning control In 2021, HCF began exploring the upper control mode of to- bacco primary processing. "After the upper control of indicators, for central control operators the workload increases and process indicators and result data need to be constantly monitored. If the centralized control platform can achieve precise detection of anomalies and rapid push of warnings, it will bring great convenience to their work," said one of team members during the project discussion. For this, the project team comprehensively sorted out the warning rules of various links and formed a summary list, fully integrating basic warning information from existing business systems through the smart and centralized control platform, and expanding the multi-element warning rules that enrich ar- eas such as quality, cost, and efficiency. According to the ac- tual needs of each business domain, they also classified warning management based on dimensions such as warning type, warn- ing importance, and warning distribution, and track and display the entire process of warning status and data. Then, if there are any abnormalities in the production pro- cess indicators, the centralized control platform directly pushes the warnings to employees' phones through WeChat. If there are abnormal indicators in other categories, they will also be classified and pushed to the craftsmen and team leaders, bring- ing greater convenience to HCF staff. At present, HCF has established 1898 warning rules in its smart and centralized control platform, fully covering multiple types of warnings such as SOP, equipment, materials, processes, and environment, truly achieving a date-driven, problem-orient- ed, and event-triggered early warning control mode. Central control operators constantly monitor warning data.
