Pheno Forecast map for EAB for May 20, 2024. Colors indicate the status of adult emergence. The status of a location is determined
by comparing local degree-day accumulations to an established degree-day accumulation threshold for the life-cycle stage.

USA-NPN offers a set of Pheno Forecast maps for EAB developed
in collaboration with Oregon State University researchers in 2023.
Forecasts for adult emergence and egg hatch are particularly rel-
evant for surveillance and for managing existing populations with
pesticide treatments and parasitoid introductions. For example,
forecasts for adults can help urban foresters detect beetles in
areas where EAB has recently arrived, like in the state of Oregon.
As with SLF, EAB forecasts are available for the entire year,
allowing you to anticipate activity several months into the
future. These maps also exclude regions where temperatures
are predicted to be too hot or too cold for EAB to persist.
