Industry Focus Dealer News Stoops Freightliner-Quality Trailer of Indianapolis has opened its new CNG/ LNG service facility. Rush Enterprises has entered into purchase agreements with Midwest Truck Sales to acquire three locations in Missouri and Kansas, and TransAuthority to acquire three Virginia locations. Diamond International has opened its new expanded location in Springfield, Mo, complete with 15 service bays and 20,000 sq. ft. for parts storage. Sherwood Freightliner has completed its recent expansion in Tunkhannock, Penn. and has been granted franchise expansion territory in Pennsylvania. Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company announces the opening of Utility Tri-State, Inc.'s new location in Oklahoma City. TEC Equipment named Successful Dealer TEC Equipment, Inc. has won the first Successful Dealer Award, presented by Truck Parts & Service's sister brand Successful Dealer. Led by David Thompson, dealer principal, president and CEO, TEC Equipment operates nearly two dozen Volvo and Mack dealerships on the West Coast with locations in Oregon, Washington, California and Nevada. Headquartered in Portland, Thompson opened the business as a used truck sales facility in the 1970s, and has led its expansion into the dealer group it is today. Randall-Reilly President Brent Reilly presented TEC Equipment's Ann Thompson and David Thompson with the inaugural Successful Dealer Award Aug. 21 in Dallas. Successful Dealer says the award recognizes TEC for its "exceptional sales and service performance and excellence in community and civic engagement." "You don't always think about being civic minded, but as you mature and grow those things fall into place," says Thompson. Baldwin, Speedco team up Montana Peterbilt has opened a revamped 54,000 sq. ft. location in Billings. Kenworth Northwest has opened a new 26,400 sq. ft., full-service facility in Lakewood, Wash. 4 T R U C K PA R T S & S E R V I C E | TPS0913PG004-9_Industry Focus.indd 4 TruckPro acquires new locations Baldwin Filters has entered a strategic partnership to supply filtration products to Speedco locations across the United States. Speedco operates a nationwide network of more than 50 quick lube and tire service locations for the trucking industry, serving both owner-operators and fleets. Baldwin says it full line of lube, fuel, air, coolant and hydraulic filters will be available at all Speedco locations. "It's great to be allied with Speedco," says Andrew Sisler, Baldwin's director of sales for key accounts. "We look forward to working with a company that excels in the national quick lube market." TruckPro announces it has purchased CCI Corporation (CCI) from Illinois Tool Works Inc. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. According to TruckPro, CCI is a network of commercial vehicle parts and service locations, with 100 retail stores, service shops and distribution center locations in the U.S. and Canada. CCI's product offering includes full drivetrain, power take-off, suspension, brakes, hydraulics and related products, as well as repair and rebuilding services, the company says. "The addition of CCI to TruckPro's existing business positions TruckPro as a leading provider of heavy-duty truck and trailer products and advanced repair services in North America," says Steve Riordan, TruckPro's chairman and CEO.
