Missouri is an interesting place.
To start
with, it is the farthest north, south, east, and west you
can be while still being in the American South, North,
East, or West. Southerners and Yankees alike can feel
at home here, where the weather is classic Midwest
(hot and humid or cold and windy).
Over the past 13 years, Missouri's weather has consistently warmed. The state averages 50 days annually
over 90° F (32° C) and less than five days below 0° F.
Precipitation ranges from 34 inches (86 cm) average
in the northwest part of the state to 50 inches (127
cm) average in the southeast part. Snow accumulation ranges from 8 inches (20 cm) average in southern
Missouri to 24 inches (61 cm) average in the northern
part of the state.
About 70% of the population lives in urban areas with
most being clustered in greater Kansas City, Saint Louis,
