The highly regarded Palouse Ridge is located in Pullman 75 miles south of Spokane. This 18-hole championship facility at Washington State University, was Golfweek's highest ranked public course to open in 2008 and the 9th best in the world in 2008 by Travel and Leisure Golf Magazine. Palouse Ridge is a different kind of golf experience. With not one tree on the course, many of the holes have a links feel. The course plays firm and fast, not nearly as long as its yardage and gives players there is some tweaking going on in preparation. Pierce County and KemperSports are busy collaborating with the USGA and Robert Trent Jones II golf course architects to make the necessary course improvements to prepare the golf course for the best players in the world. These changes began last year and will be completed by next spring. Most are minor and aside from a couple of holes where alternate greens have been constructed, you essentially can play a US Open course right now. Green fees for this star range from $99 to around $115 with discounts for sunset times. All include unlimited use of Practice Facility. One thing not to be missed is a caddie. Through its caddie program, Chambers Bay helps to facilitate the matching of guests with experienced, knowledgeable caddies, receiving information on yardage, club selection and detailed narration on each carefully crafted hole. Make sure that everyone in your foursome brings a passport or other acceptable I.D. Eaglemont Golf Course is located just a little East of Mount Vernon and is an easy drive down the I5. This is a course where bringing your "A" game will definitely help. Eaglemont is one of the top dozen or so courses in Washington State. The views of Mt. Baker and the surrounding Skagit Valley are breathtaking. The course is always in great shape and the greens are a treat for golfers of all abilities.
