TRUCKING OPPORTUNITIES Fleet Insider HWC TRANSPORTATION NAMES DRIVER OF THE YEAR HWC Transportation named George Dito the Luchious Eugene “Gene” Wren Driver of the Year for 2010. The company uses safety and security monitoring to rate its top drivers via scorecard. In addi- tion, HWC Transportation awarded driver Mark Alloway with a new GMC Sierra Truck for having the highest monthly safety rating in 2010. TRUCKERSNEWSDRIVERJOBS.COM CON-WAY TRUCKLOAD HONORS DRIVERS OF THE YEAR Con-way Truckload recently announced its 2010 Drivers of the Year. The winners include both solo and team drivers who had been named Drivers of the Month in 2010. George Cook was named Company Driver of the Year, and Thomas and Joan Walter were named Company Team of the Year. John Newkirk was named Owner-Operator of the Year, and Bill and Vicki Bumgardner were named Owner-Operator Team of the Year. MCT NAMES DRIVER OF THE MONTH Midwest Coast Transport has selected Daniel Allen as the MCT Driver of the Month for October 2010. Allen has driven with MCT since February 2008. SCHNEIDER RANKS IN SECURITY MAGAZINE’S TOP 500 LIST Schneider Truckload was recog- nized in Security Magazine’s Top 500 list of companies excelling in cargo and driver safety and secu- rity for 2010. Schneider earned a third-place ranking in the Transpor- tation, Logis- tics, Supply Chain, Dis- tribution and Warehousing segment of the maga- zine’s list. Schneider also achieved double-digit improvements in the area of cargo theft over the last three years. Schneider business continuity coordinator Bill Marotz was certified by the DRII this fall, bringing to a close an eight-year effort to secure certification.
