EQUIPMENT FOCUS Chippers Bandit Industries Model 1390XP The Model 1390XP is a capable hand-fed drum chipper, available as either a 13- or 15-inch- capacity machine. It features a 15-3/8-inch tooth-to-tooth chipper opening with an oversized 37-inch drum. Large drums turn slower, delivering more torque for greater overall efficiency and less wear-and-tear, while chipping wood with the grain for a better end product. Engine options from 48 to 142 horsepower give the 1390XP flexibility to perform tasks large or small, and it’s available with a 5-year “GUTS” warranty. EQUIPMENT FOCUS Echo Bear Cat CH8720iH Chipper Echo Bear Cat announced a new chipper to its line of heavy-duty outdoor power equipment — the Echo Bear Cat CH8720iH. The 8-inch turntable chipper features a Subaru electronic fuel- injected engine for greater power, high altitude operation, fast recovery time and increased fuel efficiency. The turntable design allows the operator to turn the feed hopper closer to the material or away from hazards such as road sides. This model is equipped with hydraulic feed, and features Echo Bear Cat’s Smart Feed System. The Smart Feed System speeds up the job by automatically feeding and adjusting the feed rate without operator intervention. For more information, visit www.bearcatproducts.com. Morbark Beever M12R The mid-sized Morbark Beever M12R brush chipper is ideal for residential tree services, utility line clearing companies, rental facilities and municipalities. The Beever M12R includes a fully boxed tubular steel, cross-member frame extending beneath the infeed bed for increased support. The M12R features the Hydra- Lift feed wheel compression system combining 3,400 lb/ft of material-pulling torque, 1,000# of hydraulic down pressure with spring assist and reversing automatic feed system, which combine to provide sure and consistent feeding of all types of material. For more information, visit www.morbark.com. Rayco RC1824 brush chipper The Rayco RC1824 was given a powerful feed system to pull in brush, limbs, and logs easier, with less trimming. Dual, horizontal feed wheels are offset to minimize material kick- up. A 24-inch-diameter top feed wheel is powered by a planetary drive motor and easily climbs over large logs without operator assistance. This 18-inch-capacity drum chipper is compact and powerful, featuring a standard 130-hp. Cummins engine or an optional 160-hp. Cummins turbo diesel. The engine is rubber isolated for smooth operation. The RC1824 chipper, with a 38-inch-diameter by 24-inch-wide drum, powers through challenging material. All this performance comes in a package that’s only 186 inches long with the feed table folded. For more information, visit www.raycomfg.com. Vermeer adds new engine option to BC1000XL brush chipper Vermeer Corporation introduced 2 engine options to the BC1000XL brush chipper that offer fuel-efficient diesel engine technology and produce significantly less emissions. The BC1000XL can be equipped with either a clean-burning 49-hp. Cat C2.2L Tier 4a or 85-hp. Cummins B3.3 Tier 3 turbo diesel engine. Both engine options offer the power needed to efficiently process material up to 12 inches in diameter, while the 25-gallon fuel tank cuts the time spent refueling and increases time spent on the jobsite. By offering 2 engine options, customers have the ability to customize the BC1000XL to fit their needs. The BC1000XL also features the Vermeer patented SmartFeed system, which monitors engine rpm and automatically stops or reverses the rollers when feeding larger hardwood material reducing the need to manually manipulate the control bar.
