STOCK WATCH Prices quoted are from the close of business on December 8, 2010 innacle Security, based in Orem, Utah, recently appointed Stuart Dean as vice president of corporate communica- tions. Dean has more than two decades of corporate com- munications, sales and marketing experience. Most recently, he was director of corporate communications at APX Alarm. In November, Security Systems News talked to Dean and asked him five questions. COMPANY (ticker) AlarmForce Ind. (AF.TO) Stuart Dean What drew you to communications at Brigham Young University? You know, I was a news junkie growing up ... I always found broadcast news fascinating, I was always interested in print journalism ... I thought I would go into those fields but by the time I went to college, I kind of took a change of course and thought it would be more fun to be an influencer, so to speak. What drew you to the security industry? I find the industry fascinating. There’s so much growth opportunity and that’s what kind of led me to come here to Pinnacle—it’s just a growing industry and we have such an impact on people’s lives. What do you do in your spare time? In my spare time, I think it’s safe to say I’m a sports junkie. I am also a college and high school basketball official. I’m a referee. How did you get into that? I actually played college baseball, but I played basketball in high school, and actually kind of loved the officiating side, and finally took an opportunity that was given to me about eight years ago and came up through the ranks. What else do you do? I love being active ... That’s what’s great about being here in Utah: We have not only some of the greatest snow on earth but some of the greatest golf courses too. —Tess Nacelewicz Periodicals Postage Rates paid at Yarmouth, ME and additional mailing office.
