Scheffler, based at the company’s National Account Center in Irving, Texas, has 15 years of experience at such companies as Academic Partnerships, Training Design & Development, ASI- Modulex, and Safeguard Business Systems. Security Systems News caught up with Alicia in May and asked her five questions. Alicia Scheffler What do you like about Texas? One of my favorite things, if you come to Texas in the spring, you will see the prettiest sight here because there are blooming bluebonnets on every highway. What is your favorite season of the year? In Texas we have two seasons: hot and cold and not a lot in between ... But there are times in Texas that usually happen in late October, early November, where it is really more like a fall in the Midwest ... The first morning when you can see you breath, that’s my favorite time of year. What activities do you enjoy outside of work? I have a little girl, her name is Peyton Rose, and she’s 5, and so obviously, I spend a lot of time going to ballet and tap, and we spend a lot time having tea parties and playing princess ... But when I get some time to myself, I love to read. What book would you recommend to others? There are two books that I have read in my life that have led to pivotal changes in how I live my life and how I make choices and decisions ...“The Road Less Traveled” and “People of the Lie.” [by M. Scott Peck, M.D.] It’s baseball season. Who do your root for? The (Texas) Rangers ... I always root for them, though sometimes it’s not always a successful experience. —Tess Nacelewicz Periodicals Postage Rates paid at Yarmouth, ME and additional mailing office.
