I DA U N I V E R S A L M ay -J u n e 2 0 1 4 25 for Arcelor Mittal, Cargill, US Steel and a variety of construction and agriculture equipment companies too numerous to mention. The Specialty Services Divi- sion is the fastest growing part of the company, which can be directly attributed to a positive economy with negative carrier capacity. With the spring and sum- mer construction seasons upon us, SAV is able to enroll certifi ed partners and ensure equipment availability for the safe and timely delivery of your shipments. SAV initially entered the "part shipping" arena in the spring of 2007, when a couple of sales representatives made a drop-in call at AAA Auto Salvage in Rose- mount, Minnesota. AAA quickly became a "staple" customer. The industry seemed to have a need, and the freight fi t the "profi le," so SAV decided to delve into the industry by attending the Upper Midwest Recyclers show. SAV's program was so well received that they were able to get 80 percent of the attendees enrolled, and SAV began to form "association partnerships" in the auto, truck, tractor and heavy duty equipment arenas. SAV's program continued to build in capacity, and they began to expand region- ally while they added new carriers and benefi ts to better serve their customers. Once they integrated their freight program with a number of inventory platforms, there was no looking back. The program has gone national, and today, SAV's network of "part shippers" runs the entire gamut. They serve thousands of individual facilities and hundreds of multi-facility shippers and specialize in moving new, used and aftermarket parts, equip- ment and accessories throughout the lower 48 states. Whether you need to move a large piece of equipment on a specialty trailer or an engine or a trans- mission on a pallet, SAV's Logistics and Managed Solu- tions Group can get the job done. SAV has received a signifi cant amount of positive media cover- age, has won numerous awards and has been recognized by Heavy Duty Trucking Magazine as an "Innovator of the Year," but what the company values most is their partnerships. "We place an extremely high value on our association partnerships," said Steven Haas, SAV's Director of Managed Solutions. "They give us access to their members, and we pro- vide a meaningful benefi t that saves those members a considerable amount of time and money." SAV has a number of initiatives planned or in progress. They currently are in the process of orienting IDA members to the "I am extremely impressed with the new Smart Shipping Program that IDA has provided as a member benefi t – their partners at SAV are knowledgeable and professional and their platform delivers an impressive range of domestic and international ship- ping options. It delivers instant and accurate rates that are highly competitive and it appears as if we may be able to reduce the cost of some of our international ship- ments by more than half."
