(Abrams) R 20th Century: 10 Years in Tribeca A tribute to the artists that have shown at R 20th Century between September 2000 and December 2010, this book, in effect, also pres- ents a survey of some of the last decade’s important, collectible de- sign. In addition to images and ephemera from the Tribeca gallery’s own shows, highlights from design fairs and exhibitions are also in- cluded in this 156-page keepsake. (R 20th Century) Serpentine Gallery Pavilions Since 2000, the Serpentine Gallery in London has com- missioned some of the world’s best architects to create its highly-anticipated summer pavilion. These temporary structures, which draw in 250,000 visitors over a three- month period every summer, are showcased in this new, beautifully-illustrated volume. (Taschen) Wright: 1885-1916 This three-volume set encompasses approxi- mately 1,100 of Frank Lloyd Wright’s designs with Volume One repre- senting the early Chicago years. (Taschen) Jean Prouvé: La Maison Tropicale (The Tropical House) Previously on show outside of London’s Tate Modern, Modernist Jean Prouvé’s Maison Tropicale was created in 1951 to combat housing shortages in France’s African colonies. The house, made entirely of sheet metal, can be completely packed flat and transported via cargo plane whenever necessary.
