PORTABLE POWER | Tillers BCS 732 with tiller attachment With its rear-tine tiller attachment, the all-gear-driven BCS 732 features different tine-to-wheel ratios that make it ideal for all 3 gardening functions — seedbed preparation, power composting and between-row cultivation. With its rotary plow attachment, the BCS 732 quickly and effortlessly builds raised beds of 10-plus inches of loose soil. Other gardening attachments include the hiller-furrower and flail mower; the latter is used in organic no-till applications. BCS America Cub Cadet RT65 rear tiller Powered by a 190-cc Honda 190 OHV engine, the Cub Cadet RT65 rear tiller can handle even the toughest ground. The RT65 comes complete with an 18-inch tilling width, 13-inch dual-directional tines, adjustable-depth bar and 16-inch pneumatic agricultural tread wheels. For ease of use, the RT65 is self propelled in both forward and reverse. In addition, the RT65 features 1-handed controls, so the user will never have to tread in freshly tilled soil. The RT65 comes with a 3-year limited residential warranty. Cub Cadet Echo's TC-210 Tiller/Cultivator Echo's TC-210 Tiller/Cultivator is lightweight for comfort, but heavy duty for performance. It features a 21.2-cc Power Boost Vortex engine — coupled with an electronic ignition and purge-pump carburetor — for quick, easy starts. Other features include a water-resistant stop switch and convenient throttle location, along with a kickstand for easy storage. A worm gear-type transmission provides high rpm and high tine torque in tough soil conditions. Four 10-tooth tines dig 9-inch-wide by 6-inch-deep furrows. Echo Inc. Honda FC600 mid-tine tiller The Honda FC600 is an exclusively commercial-grade mid-tine tiller ideal for commercial, rental and residential markets. Powered by Honda's 4-stroke GX160 commercial-grade engine, the FC600 incorporates a 1-touch trans- port wheel, simplified drag-bar operation and a single-piece reinforced handlebar. Other design elements include a multi-functional front guard, a heavier-duty fender, new tine axle seal guards and gear case, a strengthened en- gine mount and a commercial-grade fuel cap. In keeping with Honda's tradition of environmental leadership, all of its tillers are built with environmentally responsible technology. Four-stroke designs are quieter than comparably- sized 2-stroke engines, up to 30-percent more fuel efficient, and virtually smoke free. Honda Power Equipment Husqvarna's DRT900 tiller One of the few dual-rotating tillers on the market, the Husqvarna DRT900 offers the advantages of both a forward- rotating cultivator and counter-rotating deep-soil tiller. The 9-gross-torque engine is powerful and able to handle tough conditions. The DRT900 has a sealed transmission for long life and a sturdy frame. For safe and sturdy op- eration, this tiller has a counterweight on the wheels for improved balance. The easy-adjust drag bar also helps with balance and stability in different working conditions. The DRT900's agricultural tires have heavy treads to pro- vide a better grip in cultivated and muddy soil. Working width is 17 inches, and working depth is 6.5 inches. Husqvarna Professional Products, Inc. Merry Tiller by MacKissic Merry Tiller's Minnie, Suburban and International tillers feature a mid-tine design that places engine weight over the tines for better balance, as well as faster, deeper digging. All-steel cross-braced construction, welded tines, and heavy-duty roller chain transmissions provide durability to get the job done. Merry Tiller's rear-tine tiller fo- cuses all weight directly on the drive wheels for outstanding control in tough soil conditions. Separate drive trans- missions for wheels and tines with easy-to-use engagement levers, 2 tilling speeds with reverse and transport, and heavy-duty bolo tines provide the ideal digging and cultivating combination. Engine choices include Briggs & Stratton, Subaru-Robin or Honda. MacKissic, Inc. 30 OUTDOOR POWER EQUIPMENT www.outdoorpowerequipment.com
