Duie Pyle opened a new logis- tics center to support all of the West Chester, Pa.-based company's services, including its less-than truckload, truckload, warehousing and distribution, custom dedicated and brokerage operations. The facility in Westampton, N.J., has a 132,000-square-foot warehouse and 101 doors for progressive loading A. Duie Pyle opens logistics center and unloading and is located near both the Ports of New York and New Jersey, as well as a railyard for consolidation and deconsolidation. Scranton, Pa.-based third- party logistics provider KAne is Able inc. opened a 211,000-square-foot dis- tribution center in Rialto, Calif., to address growing customer demand in Southern California. The Inland Empire facility, 50 miles east of Los Angeles, will provide cross-dock, distribution and transportation services. Pay HornADy TrAnsPorTATion increased driver pay programs for all line haul, dedicated and regional drivers paid by the mile. All drivers received a 1-cent increase across the board, and additional packages for tarp, detention, layover and breakdown pay also were increased. These increases will be followed by an additional 1-cent increase this month. EquiPmEnt FleeTmAsTer exPress added 60 new 2014 Freightliner Cascadia tractors to its 300- truck fleet. The Roanoke, Va.-based company said it also recently added 40 other new Cascadias and that its latest order represents a 10 percent increase in growth and will allow it to hire more drivers and haul more weight up to 50,000 pounds with its 1,400 trailers. Fleetmaster also announced the purchase of 100 new Wabash DuraPlate trailers, with plans to add 100 more by yearend.
