December To-Do List: A toast to 2011 • To loved ones close and loved ones far • To the family you have and your family of friends • To a year of (and those few minor slip-ups) • To knowing more today than yester- day • To owning it however it was, is and will be • To a year's worth of meals, and very few kitchen fires • To take-out menus and delivery drivers for saving us so many times • To being resourceful and picking your battles • To making moves • To finding peace in stillness and energy in the commotion • To putting down roots • To understanding the power of a long, hot shower on a tired soul • To sinking in • To standing up • To letting it flow (the wine, that is) • To whispering your TRUTH • To shouting it from the rooftops • To coffeecake, for combining two great things in the morning • To perspective • To those who serve • To those who need • We each have our times to give and to take • To adjusting, evolving and expanding • But realizing you don't have to reinvent yourself to be happy • To snowflakes, for showing us that each piece being different just makes the whole more beautiful • To you as you are • To you and who you will be • To the next 365 days and the opportunity each one brings • cheers! ••• December 2011 bravamagazine.com 71 Join Women in Focus, Inc. in an elegant evening of dining, dancing and inspiration on Jan. 14, 2012 to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s vision for the community.
