NGWA advertising and exhibit sales director. "Even though I remained opti- mistic throughout the year about the final outcome, I was admittedly con- cerned about the dates of the Expo with it being the week before Christmas. "However, any doubt or concern was quickly dispelled after seeing the crowd of folks in the exhibit hall visiting our exhibitors. Hearing the many positive comments shared by the exhibitors was what I needed in order to know that all was well." Some exhibitors tried out new ap- proaches to interact with attendees, in- cluding Franklin Electric, sponsor of the Attendee Welcome Reception. In addi- tion to the variety of new products on display, Franklin Electric offered short training sessions (10-15 minutes in length) at its Hone Your Craft Expert Hub, focusing on solutions to questions that are commonly asked by water well professionals. Taylor Industries, a drill rig manufac- turer, introduced its new Mobile Ti-5D Titan mobile drilling unit and pump hoist unit which can work for conven- tional or reverse rotary drill applica- tions. The Mobile Ti-5D Titan is de- signed for multiple applications, including water and geothermal drilling, gas, and oil. Goulds Water Technology, a Xylem brand, debuted at the Expo its virtual classroom—Goulds Water Technology e-Learning. GWT e-Learning is an online training program focused on the latest advancements in residential, commercial, and agricultural water technology applications. "When it comes to education, today's pump professionals want accessible, straightforward, and comprehensive training," says Tom Stephan, training manager for Xylem's Goulds Water Technology Factory School. "Our new GWT e-Learning offering is designed to accommodate the modern installer's needs and on-the-go schedule." The NGWA Activity Area made its return after debuting in 2014 and pro- vided 30-minute offerings for attendees to learn skills applicable to their job in the exhibit hall. More than 75 individu- als participated in these various activi- ties. Optional workshop offerings included everything from field logging of water well borehole cuttings to drilling fundamentals for hydro- geologists. A special presentation by three for- mer National Ground Water Research and Educational Foundation McEllhiney Distinguished Lecturers, "McEllhiney Revisited," was well received too. The Expo's Opening Session and Awards Presentation saw an emotional Scott Fowler, CWD/PI, NGWA presi- dent in 2008, receive the Association's top award—the Ross L.
