The manual rewind GHC3100 N, conve- niently retracts and stores up to 100' of high-visibility orange nylon jacketed cable. When properly clamped to a ground, the static discharge reel dissipates static electrical buildup, reducing the chances of sparking and the potential for explosion. It is highly recommended for applications where explosions are prevalent as a result of static build-up, such as re-fueling/de-fueling. Called Putnus, the system enables a dealer to deliver small amounts at low cost, said Jeffrey Suntup, its inventor and mar- keter, who uses the prototype unit to deliver small volumes of fuel for Anytime Fuel Oil in New London, Conn. The system features a tank sized at 118.9 gal- lons so that, when it is mounted on a vehicle, it is exempt from DOT regulations, Suntup said. Further, the smaller tank means that the vehicle operator is not required to have a CDL; nor do hazmat regulations apply, Suntup said. Those advantages combine to enable dealers to make small deliveries at low cost, resulting in higher net profit than is normally achieved with a full- size oil delivery truck, Suntup said. Using the system during the off-season, Anytime Fuel Oil achieved margins "after cost of goods sold" that ranged from 78 to 93 cents per gallon, Suntup said. During the heating season, Anytime Fuel Oil realized margins that ranged from 98 cents to $1.14 per gallon after COGS, Suntup reported. With the tank empty, the system weighs about 300 pounds; with a full tank the unit weighs less than 1,200 pounds, Suntup said. Taking its weight into account, the system must be installed on a suitable vehicle for stability and safety, Suntup said. He rec- ommended "at least" an F-250 to F-350 truck, referring to the pickup trucks manu- factured by Ford Motor Co.
