Originally created in 1990, the Hogan
Tour, named after Hall of Famer Ben
Hogan, served as the satellite tour
for players who didn't have a place
to play on the PGA Tour. This gave
professionals the opportunity to
hone their games, transition from
collegiate golf, and play professional
tournaments all year long before the
next PGA Tour Qualifying School.
Otherwise known as the "Fall Classic",
Q-School is where every player had
to go through Local, Sectional, and
Final Qualifiers to earn their PGA
Tour card for the next season.
