PRODUCTS & PACKAGING Pernod Ricard USA is debuting a new addi- tion to the Malibu portfolio: Malibu Sunshine, which combines the brand's coconut flavor with a hint of lemon-lime citrus fruit. The colorful packaging is meant to stand out on any shelf or back bar, the company says. Malibu is supporting the launch of Sunshine with an aggressive digital and social media marketing plan, as well as a wide array of in-store merchandis- ing materials, including case cards, floor decals, ceiling danglers and shelf talkers. Malibu Sunshine is available in 1.75 liter, 1 liter, 750 ml and 50 ml sizes and retails for a suggested price of $12.99 for a 750 ml bottle. From Riviera Imports comes Lunés Sparkling Moscato, which is available in three ver- sions: Mango, Peach and Strawberry. The Moscato is blended with these all-natural fruit essences resulting in a slightly sweet and refreshing taste profile, the company says. Produced and bottled in Asti, Italy, Lunés sells at a suggested retail price of under $11 for a 750 ml bottle. Gemstone has release a new Bordeaux blend 2009 Estate Red Wine. Made from 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc, Gemstone 2009 Estate Red Wine features rich flavors of blackberry, figs, cassis and cocoa, with moder- ate tannins and a lengthy finish. Only 1,250 cases of this Yountville appellation wine are available, for a suggested retail price of $80 for a 750 ml bottle. Napa Valley winery Newton Vineyard has released a new red blend called The Puzzle 2008. The company says the fruit is hand-selected from 112 separate vineyard blocks spread across 120 planted acres of steep Spring Mountain hillsides, and then the fruit remains isolated by vineyard block for natural fermentation and barrel aging. The rich wine is said to feature concen- trated cherry and plum and well- integrated tannins. It is made from 42% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec and has a suggested retail of $80. It is available nationally from Moët Hennessy Estates & Wines USA.
