NUTS AND BOLTS NEWS Hyundai Introduces New Mid-size Crawler Excavator Hyundai Construction Equipment introduced the newest machine in its line of Robex 210 crawler excavators, the R210LC-9. It's part of Hyun- dai's new 9 Series of construction equipment that provides opera- tors many improved features and benefi ts, including optimized safety, enhanced technology and operator comfort, reduced operating costs and an extended life of machine components and wear parts. Th e R210LC-9 is a mid-size crawler excavator, powered by a Cummins QSB6.7 water-cooled, 4-cycle, low emission die- sel engine with 145 HP (107 KW) at 1900 rpm. At 49,390 lbs., the exca- vator has a dig depth of 18 feet, 7 inches (5,680 mm) and bucket digging force of 24,900 lbs - ſt (11,290 kgf) making it ideal for mid- size excavating projects, road and utility work and demolition. New steel tube construction on the cab has increased its safety, protection and durability. Once inside the cab, the opera- tor will enjoy many new benefi ts, including more room due to an increased cab size, better visibility, reduced sound, improved storage and better climate control. Operators of the R210LC-9 will also benefi t from a recon- fi guration and consolidation of controls and easier access to critical switches. Hyun- dai off ers a standard rear-view camera which is viewed from the Cluster display. Th e R210LC-9 also comes standard with Hi-mate, Hyundai's proprietary remote management system that provides operators for extended lube intervals of 250 hours – and polymer shims to resist wear and reduce noise. Users also get extended- life hydraulic fi lters (1,000 hours), long-life hydraulic oil (5,000 hours) and more effi cient cooling systems and integrated preheating systems.
