The Rent-to-Run program is a full-service truck lease program designed for drivers to receive all of the rewards of being an independent contractor without the risks. Drivers get 75 percent of bills of lading for on-time deliveries and receive regular settlement state- ments. A low weekly payment covers the truck, insurance and all operat- ing expenses. Drivers can choose over-the-road or Midwest regional routes. Celadon drivers have Rent-to-Run option By Dean SmallwooD SERVICES SOUTHEASTERN FREIGHT LINES now provides seamless door- to-door cross-border delivery between Canada and the United States. The Lexington, S.C.-based less-than-truckload company said the new service allows transnational custom- ers to ship between the two countries, trace shipments from start to end and pay bills directly. FACILITIES DAYTON FREIGHT opened its first Tennessee service cen- ter in Memphis, allowing the Ohio-based less-than- truckload company to enhance service to its customers in Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas by providing on-time intact service to thousands of cities in the Midwest. The $1 million 32-door center sits on seven acres and will allow Dayton to continue to build its Southeast customer base. RECOGNITION DECKER TRUCK LINE honored owner-operator Jerry Schad for achieving membership in its Million Mile Safe Driver Team. Schad, a five-year veter- an with the Fort Dodge, Iowa- based company, first served for four years as a company driver out of Decker's terminal in Missoula, Mont.
