Polish Fest kicks off the 2016 ethnic festival season June 17-19 at Maier Festival Park (Summerfest grounds) on Lake Michigan. Recognized as the largest celebration of Polish culture in the U.S., the fest features food, music, dance and more with five stages of entertain - ment. Hours are noon-mid- night Friday and Saturday and noon-8pm Sunday. At 10:30pm on Saturday, the "Big Boomski," sponsored by Nick Ignatowski of Plan - ners Financial Group, brings fireworks to the lakefront. Non-stop music Participation is the name of the game at the Non-Stop Polka stage, with groups like The Knewz and The Buffalo Touch from New York and the Polka Country Musicians from Connecticut. Top-notch performers at the Miller Contemporary Stage include Squeezebox with Ted Lange and Mollie B and 76 Juliet. Hailing from Canada are John Gora & Gorale. Wowing crowds at the Chopin Vodka Cultural Stage are groups like the Syrena/ Syrenka Polish Folk Dance Ensemble and Polonez Song & Dance Ensemble. The Children's Stage and the Folk Stage also feature a wide variety of entertainment.
