BY JOHN REED T he most amusing thing I hear from people today for choosing not to diet or change their lifestyle is they will be hungry. So what? Do you think that will kill you? Probably not, but eating foods not healthy for you will de$nitely end your life early. People eat way too much food every day. Who said we need to eat three or more meals every day to stay healthy? We don't. All we need to eat every day is enough to give our body the nutrition to last until the next meal and since we do not need to hunt for our next meal the next meal is as close as the refrigerator or restaurant or any fast food joint. Our body's energy comes from the glycogen our body has digested, converted and stored in the muscles for energy, everything else gets stored as fat. !at is why survival experts tell us we can only live three days without water but 30 days without food. !at is how much fat the body has stored for those times we can't $nd food. It is a storage system that has been ingrained into our system through evolution and the need for survival. According to the Mayo Clinic, it takes the human body six to eight hours to digest a meal and another 30 hours on average to excrete that same meal. What that means is, for the most part, any food not used for storage as energy will be stored as fat and you will will keep eating all this food before the last meal is even digested, making you more fat. When you eat sugar and too many carbohydrates the body uses them $rst for energy. As soon as they are used, the body tells you that you need to eat again, even though you don't really need it. !ere is still food in your stomach, but since your body is currently running on sugars and carbohydrates and not fat, then the fat does not get used for energy the way it is intended. However, when you are fat-adapted, your body uses fat for energy, giving you the feeling of being full longer. !is means you do not eat nearly as much. You will lose weight faster because your body is burning the fat for energy you will burn through the stored fat twice as fast than if you went on a conventional diet. Becoming fat-adapted is, in my opinion, the single best way to lose weight and get healthy. Doctors are prescribing medication if you sneeze more than 10 times and the dietitians trying to get you to drop your calories to such a level that it is unsustainable without leaving you hungry all the time. You are le% thinking that being overweight is just because you are eating too much. No, the problem is you are eating the wrong foods — foods too high in sugar and carbohydrates every day. By not eating sugars and grains, you will eat less and become much healthier for the rest of your life. I can help anyone who asks for it.
