CITGO Petroleum Corporation, based in Houston, is a refiner, transporter and marketer of transportation fuels, lubri- cants, petrochemicals and other industrial 10 products. The company is owned by PDV America, Inc., an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A., the national oil company of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. WESTERN CASCADE TRUCK, TANK & EQUIPMENT JOINS HEIL DISTRIBUTION NETWORK Western Cascade Truck, Tank & Equipment has joined the Heil distribution network. Western Cascade will provide sales, service, and parts for the Heil Petroleum, Crude, and Hot Products lines for a ten county region covering Washington, Oregon, and Idaho and Alaska. Western Cascade is located in Tukwila, WA. They have provided tanker sales, service, and parts throughout the north- west for 25 years. With Western Cascade joining the Heil distribution network, Northwest customers will have a one stop shopping experience, combining the tradi- tion of Heil quality and performance with Western Cascade's expertise and customer service. "The addition of Heil is a natural fit for our company to expand its pres- ence on the West Coast and continue our high standard for cargo tank sales and ser- vice," according to Pat Malara, president of Western Cascade. In other news, the Heil Trailer International, Co. Athens, Tennessee facility achieved over 1 million produc- tion hours and 500 work days without a lost time injury. This is the second time in five years that the Athens facility has achieved this impressive goal. During the time of this achievement, the facil- ity has increased production by over 50 percent while increasing employee count by 66 percent. No work-related injury or illness has prevented employees from fulfilling scheduled work shifts since December 4, 2010. HUDSON VALLEY OIL HEAT COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP WINNER The Hudson Valley Oil Heat Council has announced its 2012 scholarship win- ner—Samantha Michalek. She graduated seventh in her class of 387 from Minisink JULY 2012 | FUEL OIL NEWS | www.fueloilnews.com Valley Central High School in Slate Hill, N.Y. and will be attending Stony Brook University in the fall to pursue a career as a surgical oncologist. Michalek's interests in high school were softball and volleyball. She was cap- tain of the varsity volleyball team for two years and received the MVP award in her senior year. In her junior year she received the Rotary Youth Leadership Award and attended the leadership conference at Mount St. Mary College in Newburgh, N.Y. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and attended the medi- cal program New Vision where she has received 23 college credits for her efforts. First organized and incorporated in 1959, the Hudson Valley Oil Heat Council is dedicated to promoting greater comfort, convenience and safety in area homes and businesses through research and appli- cation of advanced methods of heating, cooling and air conditioning.
