NOVEMBER 2016 6 THE JOURNAL No. 3 on Get It Quick Page The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) reports that ac- cording to official statistics compiled on behalf of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), manufactured housing industry production -- after declining in July 2016 -- resumed its trend toward long-term growth during August 2016. Just-released sta- tistics indicate that HUD Code manufacturers produced 7,363 homes in August 2016, a 16.2% increase over the 6,332 HUD Code homes produced during August 2015. Cumula- tive industry production for 2016 now totals 52,567 homes, a 14.9% increase over the 45,736 HUD Code homes produced over the same period in 2015. A further analysis of the official industry sta- tistics shows that the top ten shipment states from the beginning of the industry production rebound in August 2011 through August 2016 -- with cumulative, monthly, current year (2016) and prior year (2015) shipments per category as indicated -- are as indicated in box. The latest information for August 2016 re- sults in no changes to the cumulative top ten list. The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform is a Washington, D.C.- based national trade association representing the views and interests of independent producers of federally-regulated manufactured housing.
