Champion Homes Brings Together Both Sides of the Political Aisle at the 2012 Republican and Democratic National Conventions By: Kevin Flaherty Politics hasn't driven a wedge between all Democrats and Republicans this fall.Political delegates and volunteers from both parties worked to- gether at their respective conventions to each build one half of a Cham- pion manufactured home as part of theHouse United Project. The house will be donated in October to a deserving military veteran in Charlotte, N.C. Champion Homes, a producer of modular homes and manufactured homes and buildings, was chosen to partner with Craftsman, NextGen Home, Bank ofAmerica, Rebuilding Together andHeroes atHome. TV personality, Ty Pennington, led the charge to complete each half of the home at each convention. "Champion is very proud to be a part of this incredible partnership and program," JeffMooring, general manager of the Champion Homes facil- ity in Salisbury, N.C. where the home was built, said. "We won't for- get this opportunity to work with such respected organizations, delegates, and volunteers to make a difference in an American family's life." Each organization's participation in the House United Project demon- strates their commitment to philanthropic efforts for our nation's veter- ans. "With each deployment and assignment, they give up a part of their life for our freedom and way of life. Being a part of the House United Proj- ect and having the opportunity to donate a beautiful home to one of these families is an incredible honor for Champion and our affiliated retailers across the country," said Jack Lawless, CEO, ChampionHome Builders. Both halves of the house will be "united" in October in Charlotte's Belmont neighborhood. The product? A home that will demonstrate the generosity of Champion, the participating organizations and volunteers from both sides of the aisle, as well as their commitment to supporting our nation's veterans.
