The company says the excavator achieves 160 net horsepower using Tier 4 Interim-certified cooled exhaust gas recirculation technology that burns cleaner while delivering superior horsepower. Boom Economy Control lowers engine RPMs during the boom down and swing operation; the Auto Economy Control lowers RPMs when the joysticks are inactive. Swing Relief Control technology manages the hydraulic power al- lotted at the start of the swing operation, and Spool Stroke Control creates automatic pressure adjustment during digging operations. A new narrow undercarriage version, measuring 8 feet, 6 inches in width, is available for easier transport. The machine is said to of- fer 10-percent fuel economy gains, 3-percent cycle-time reductions, and 7-percent lift capacity increases. Additional features include a 440-pound increase in operating weight to 47,800 pounds; a bucket digging force of 34,171 pounds; arm digging force of 24,729 pounds; and a maximum dig depth of 21 feet, 10 inches. Standard bucket sizes range from 0.65 to 1.53 cubic yards. The spacious cab offers 7 percent more overall space and 25 percent more airflow. The machine is said to offer 19 percent better visibility from the driver's seat compared to previous models. A rearview camera and optional side cameras feed video to a 7-inch LED monitor for additional safety. Vibration refinement on the cab's reinforced tubular structure reduces noise levels to as low as 69.9 dBa. Extended service intervals — 500-hour engine oil change intervals, 5,000-hour hydraulic oil change intervals, and 1,000-hour greas- ing intervals — are said to help reduce operating costs. Improved sizer features Almo Process says it recently optimized several features on its Mogensen sizer. The output ports were redesigned to optimize material flow and feature larger inspection ports and fixed fastenings. The vibration system's capacity was increased through prevention of plugged mesh openings. The screen tensioning system was improved; its simplified concept is said to result in reduced maintenance time and an improved ability to withstand dust. The company says the newly redesigned dust covers are ergonomic and easy to handle and are designed to be scratch resistant and withstand heat to 185 degrees F.
