And starting this month the AEMP is making it possible to take the test for its fl agship Certi- fi ed Equipment Manager program without having to travel. The CEM is the industry's only set of standards for a manager of heavy equipment and municipal government fl eets. The curriculum is based on 17 core competencies identifi ed by AEMP as necessary to be an effective fl eet manager. (See: Want to be certifi ed by AEMP?, on the next page.) AEMP University enables aspir- ing fl eet professionals to down- load the CEM course materials Now you can study and take the test to become a Certifi ed Equipment Manager without having to travel. online and study on their own time and schedule. But to take the test in the past you had to attend one of AEMP's two annual meetings. Now AEMP has contracted with Pearson VUE, a provider of proc- tored, computer-based testing solutions. Beginning this month Pearson VUE will make the CEM exam available four times a year – two weeks each quarter – at test sites in all 50 states and 165 countries.
