All the animals are meticulously handcarved of bass and poplar wood and have been professionally restored to their original beauty. Both the Carousel and the Carousel House are National Historic Landmarks. Jimmie Rodgers Museum The Father of Country Music, "the Singing Brakeman," was born and reared in the Meridian area.
