Networking News Local women and businesses on the move Linda Abbott recently launched Never Forget Legacies & Tributes LLC, a company that helps people and businesses share their stories and commemorate milestone events. As an author, journalist and PR professional, Abbott creates books, DVDs and audio CDs of life's events. Three books by Little Creek Press, a local book publisher, won prestigious national awards. "47 Strings: Tessa's Special Code," "Super Snacks for Super Kids," and "Giddyap Tin Lizzie, The Long Road Back to the Plow" were all recognized at New York City galas. The Henry Vilas Zoo received a $3,200 donation from the Alliant Energy Foundation to add SMART Board Technology—an interactive whiteboard display—to the educational center within the zoo's new Animal Health Center. Wisconsin Women in Government honored Susan Lipp, owner of Full Compass, a national leader in audio, video, lighting and instrument sales, as a Women of Achievement. In addition to other accolades, Lipp earned recognition for helping create the fourthlargest women-owned business in Wisconsin. Lindsey Hamielec, account manger at M3 insurance, was named 2013 Wisconsin Outstanding Customer Service Representative of the Year by the National Alliance. The annual award recognizes exceptional contributions and commitment of those serving clients in the insurance industry. Lisa Schnedler was named president and CEO of Dodgeville's Upland Hills Health. Schnedler comes with 23 years' experience as hospital CEO and administrator. She succeeds the current president and CEO of 44 years, Phyllis Fritsch. $38,823 The amount donated to the Children's Service Society of Wisconsin by the Attic Angel Association. The grant helps fund home visits and pre-K training to prepare a number of at-risk children for kindergarten throughout southwest Madison.
