Now, the company brings its engine and mini excavator expertise into the fi eld of electrifi cation with its fi rst electric mini excavator prototype: the new SV17e. is innovation represents an important strategic step in the transformation for Yanmar Compact Equipment. "Our aim, together with our dealer partners, is to build stronger relationships and create even greater customer value," said Yanmar Compact Equipment CEO, Giuliano Parodi. Powered by effi cient electric drive and hard working 48-volt batteries with fast charging capability, it's a quiet, zero-emission machine designed to meet the most demanding emissions restrictions. In-line with Yanmar Compact Equipment's commitment to create an exceptional customer experi- ence, the appeal of SV17e goes beyond simply being an electric machine. e design Yanmar Targets Europe with Electric Excavator 5 percent and included a le - hand tilt-up console for easier entry and exit. Customized, programmable settings and joystick button controls can be stored on the monitor based on operator ID. No Neck Strain A 30-degree tilt-up cab gives you a comfortable sight line without neck strain when working on tall structures and buildings. And to better help you see that work tool eight stories up in the air, the UHD front is work-tool camera ready. Cat E-fence and Cat Grade with 2D automatically guide depth, slope and horizontal distance to grade through the monitor. And the machine automatically compensates for excavator pitch and roll caused by sloping ground condi- tions through use of GPS and GLONASS systems. "Our prototype is signifi - cant because it demonstrates our capability to bring the quality and reliability of our highly respected conven- tional engine technology into the arena of electrifi ca- tion," explained Director Product Management EMEA Cedric Durand. "But we have gone further. As always, the operator is at the heart of this machine, and we have challenged ourselves to deliver the comfort, power, control and precision we believe will surpass the expectations of professional operators." In preparation for its sales start at Bauma 2022, the prototype SV17e is currently undergoing Yanmar's vigorous product testing regime. ese tough fi eld tests are uncompromising in their thoroughness to ensure an uncompromising level of durability and reliability in the design and engineering. According to Director Engineering EMEA Sota Takami, "We are very pleased with the performance to date. As you would expect, we have a rigorous testing regime which pushes every aspect of the machine to its limit. e machine has performed very well in all these tests. We are particularly pleased with the power and control of the machine. Of course, this is a quiet, zero-emission machine, but that, in itself, is not enough. We must create a great feeling for the operator. I am confi dent that profes- sional operators will be very comfortable in this machine. ey will certainly feel the power, control and precision handling they will need to take on the big jobs as well as the small jobs." ● www.constructionequipment.com 11/21 Yanmar CE Unveils its First Electric Mini Excavator Prototype: the New SV17e
