Acting National president's Message dear members of the National catholic Society of foresters, Summer conjures up thoughts of growing gardens, grooming lawns, taking vacations or road trips, and trying new schedules. As acting national president, I anticipate that my NCSF summer will involve all these things in new and exciting ways. Having delegated the business operations to the capable hands of Jay Schenk, I will be able to focus on the fraternal side of the Society and will be on the road with a knowledgeable team to spend time with our members. We will include someone from sales as well as fraternal to focus on strengthening our courts, encouraging member involvement, and sharing information about NCSF products, programs and potential. growing our membership and our Society. I may not take time to groom the lawn but I will spend time grooming strong, knowledgeable NCSF leaders. Road trips to regional gatherings of members will be my "vacations". As members of the National Catholic Society of Foresters, we can make a positive difference in our parishes and hometowns. Fraternalism and the community-building interactions of our members are wonderful antidotes to many of the cultural influences that tear down the Kingdom of God. I may not spend the summer growing a vegetable garden, but I will be Where fraternalism thrives, everyone thrives. The summer will certainly be a busy time with a new schedule as I assume the role of acting national president and have meetings with the other executive officers, the national directors, and our experienced insurance professional, Jay, as well as pouring energy into the fraternal side of NCSF. As I start down this new road, please include me in your prayers and pray for the growth and strengthening of our Society. ... I will be growing our membership and our Society. ... I will spend time grooming strong, ACTING NATIONAL PRESIDENT MARGARET (PEGGy) SCHMITT knowledgeable NCSF leaders. In our winter issue of the magazine I was introduced to you as the new executive vice president and you were informed of my professional background. To really know me, you need to know what I am all about. My wife, Mary and I will be married 40 years in October. We are the parents of four amazing daughters; Jennifer (Mark), Elizabeth (Tommy), Lynda (Josh) and Sarah (Daniel). We have been blessed with seven grandchildren; John, Luke, Mary, Carter, Mikey, Cecilia and Margaret. They make our lives full of love and excitement and they bring so much joy into our lives. " 2 I am thrilled to be a part of NCSF, and I will do my best to serve you. For nearly 10 years we were a presenting couple for Worldwide Marriage Encounter and were one of the couples that coordinated the Pre Cana program for the St. Louis Archdiocese. Our lives have revolved around our faith and our family. That is what drew me to the fraternal world. " I am thrilled to be a part of NCSF, and I will do my best to serve you.
