Product News Continued from page 28 Grasshopper introduces 2014 EFI mowers Coupling the latest engine technology with advanced drive and ergonomic systems, The Grasshopper Company recently announced 2 new Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) zero-turn mowers that provide excellent performance and fuel economy for commercial operators and largeacreage owners. Grasshopper's new MidMount Model 327 EFI (top photo) and FrontMount Model 727T EFI (bottom photo) are powered by enhanced second-generation, fuel-efficient, 747-cc Kohler Command Pro closed-loop EFI engines. Closed-loop EFI engines offer a range of benefits to operators and dealers, including decreased fuel use, reliable hot and cold starts, reduced engine exhaust emissions, and fewer fuel-induced service issues. The Delphi automotive-based system features plug-in diagnostics with engine feedback and performance information for easier diagnosis of service issues and faster service intervals. "These EFI engines are continually monitoring internal and external factors that can affect engine performance, such as fuel grade, fuel quality, ambient air temperature and altitude, and making automatic adjustments to optimize performance, increase fuel efficiency, and extend service life," said Grasshopper Marketing Director Ruthanne Stucky. Stucky said that customer and dealer response to the new models has been positive and expects the popularity of the new Delphi-based system to increase as customers become aware of the benefits of closed-loop EFI. "Grasshopper has always been dedicated to producing quality equipment that provides ease of use and years of reliable service, and these new EFI models are just another example of that ongoing commitment," she added. Model 727T EFI can be equipped with a 52-, 61- or 72-inch DuraMax cutting deck, and a 61- or 72-inch DuraMax deck is available for Model 327 EFI. Both models accept PowerVac collection systems, while a range of time- and labor-saving implements for the 727T EFI increase productivity in any season. More information and specifications will soon be available on the company's website. The Grasshopper Co. The 3X easily cuts through 18 inches of heavy, wet snow, including that annoying wall of winter the snowplow leaves at the end of the driveway. Big snow days won't hold Cub Cadet 3X operators back this winter. The patent-pending three-stage system works by first gathering snow, ice and slush, and moving everything toward the center. Then, Cub Cadet's new high-volume accelerator cuts and chops through winter's worst, accelerating it into the high-performance discharge impeller, where it's thrown up and out of the high-impact chute. These three stages work together to move more snow faster while putting the operator in complete control of speed and maneuverability. A host of innovative features ensures that the Cub Cadet 3X combines the power to plow through a wall of snow with easy handling and comfortable control. Features include: • The only walk-behind snow thrower with three-stage power • Push-button electric start for starting convenience • Trigger-controlled power steering that allows for excellent control, effortless turning and one-hand operation • COOL BLUE skid shoes that glide along surfaces for better maneuverability; they won't rust or damage driveways or garage floors • By letting operators easily shift to a faster speed, the 3X lets them set a pace that feels best for them, so they can clear more snow faster and get out of the cold quicker. • 3-year limited residential warranty; 1-year limited commercial warranty; plus a 5-year limited warranty on the 3X auger gearbox, giving operators peace of mind winter after winter "The 3X three-stage snow thrower is the latest example of Cub Cadet's advanced innovation that separates the brand from others," said Jeff Salamon, Cub Cadet's director of marketing. "Only Cub Cadet offers snow throwers with single-, two- and three-stage power, including the 1X, 2X and impressive new 3X, so you can choose the level of snow-throwing power to match your winter weather needs."
