Werner rolls out new truck safety reward program
Werner Enterprises introduced a
three-tiered Million Mile Safe Driver
Truck Program to reward drivers
with new trucks and accessories for
achieving safe driving milestones of 1
million, 2 million or 3 million miles.
The program offers drivers the
opportunity to order new trucks
equipped with an auxiliary power
unit with 110-volt service and assorted accessories available depending on
the safe driving milestone achieved.
Werner currently has about 570
professional drivers eligible for the
program.
More than 1,500 Werner drivers
have achieved 1 million or more safe
driving miles.
Facilities
Old Dominion Freight Line
relocated and expanded its
service center in Fort Myers,
Fla., to a 16-door facility that
employs 13.
Penske Truck Leasing
opened a new 11,000-squarefoot facility in Neenah, Wis.

Honors
Robert Robison, a driver with
Epes Transport of Greensboro,
N.C., was named October
Driver of the Month by the
North Carolina Trucking
Association Safety Management
Council. Robison was honored
at a NCTA awards luncheon.
Hill Brothers
Transportation, based in
Omaha, Neb., recognized 35
company drivers and owneroperators who earned a Safe
Driving Award for the third
quarter of 2013.
Intermodal provider Hub
Group received a SmartWay
Excellence Award from the
U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency as an industry leader
in freight supply chain environmental performance and energy
efficiency.
Community service
Southeastern Freight Lines
announced it achieved 1,323
total hours of community service in 2013, when 572 associates participated in projects
such as volunteering at food
drives and soup kitchens.
